I am an independent journalist who writes on gender and development. I have contributed to national and international discussions on the issue of gender rights and violence in India. I currently report on gender rights in North America. My articles and blogs have appeared in Forbes, The Guardian, The Deccan Herald, The Huffington Post, CNN, IBN LIVE, Open Democracy and The New Indian Express.
In 2013, I won the CNN IBN Citizen Journalism Award for my reportage of the protests that followed the Delhi Gang Rape. In 2014, my TEDx talk on finding a voice against gender violence was featured on TED.com, encouraging survivors of sexual abuse to speak up. I am now a Global Journalism fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs reporting on gender and development in North America. I also work closely with the United Nations Foundation and Youth to End Sexual Violence.
